This is a post about how people have more free time than ever.  It’s pretty interesting.

I don’t think a truer thing has ever been said.  It’s a good sign – society is productive enough that we don’t have to work all the time.  Then again, it’s also a bad thing – something about idle hands and devil’s work.   And hippie protesters.

Reminds me of that book The Diamond Age where nanotech did most of the work, so nobody had to work anymore.  Was kind of weird – they replaced farmers who had done nothing but farmed for generations with nanotech so that they could get some quality entertainment time.  I hate working, but if we didn’t have to work, what the hell would we do all the time?
