Been Saying This For Years
July 14th, 2008 by hrrf

There was a really long article in the WashPo about the ACC, and “rise” of the Big East.  One conclusion:

“The fact that Miami, Boston College and Virginia Tech are no longer in the Big East makes it a whole lot easier for those secondary schools to step up,” Farrell said. “Look at Rutgers. They’ve won for two years. It’s not like there’s a huge winning tradition there. Is it a coincidence that those two years happened to follow the departure of Miami, Boston College and Virginia Tech?”

So the Big East has gotten “better” at football because now all the good teams are gone, meaning you only have to beat up a bunch of sucktastic teams to go 11-1?

And for the ACC title game revenue, maybe they should look at the fact that they placed the game in a city where only 1 school is within 350 miles of it.
